Opening at the theater—A school supporting your first step into the performing arts.
If you’ve ever wanted to try expressing yourself, are curious about the arts but haven’t taken the first step, or simply want to try something fun—then the Kitageki School is for you! Starting in 2024, this new program was launched to support people just like you.
Now entering its second term, the program will begin in May 2025, bringing participants together twice a month to learn and experience various aspects of performing arts. Together with fellow participants, you’ll create and perform a theater production at the Kitakyushu Performing Arts Center’s Shogekijyo Playhouse. From acting to behind-the-scenes roles such as stage design and sound/lighting engineering, participants will fully engage in every part of the production process and learn by doing.
