[Call for Participants] Community Coordinator Development Program

Bring more vitality to communities and people through the power of art! Explore how to create spaces where children and the arts can connect!

The Community Coordinator Development Program invites individuals who are interested in addressing local challenges and working toward solutions through drama and dance.

Participants will experience workshops led by artists active on the frontline and listen to the firsthand experiences of coordinators who are engaged in various initiatives across Japan. Through site visits and collaborating with new colleagues, you can experience the excitement of connecting communities and the theater. We look forward to your participation!

Program Outline

We will explore the topic of how to promote the arts to children and discuss possible solutions through a three-step program that includes sharing local challenges and experiencing drama and dance workshops.

Step 1: Workshop Experiences and Case Studies
Gain a deeper understanding of the potential of workshops by participating in drama and dance workshops led by prominent artists and coordinators and learning from various case studies.

Step 2: Outreach Field Visits
Visit schools to observe outreach programs, see children’s reactions, and learn about the methods employed by artists. This will provide insights into the key perspectives emphasized in the workshops.

Step 3: Project Planning
Visualize local challenges and develop solutions through discussions. This step also provides the opportunity to strengthen connections among participants and to consider future activities.
